Gr 9 Up—This short program compares and contrasts asexual and sexual reproduction using examples from various organisms including animals, fungi, plants, and bacteria. It utilizes stock footage of organisms as well as no-frills, serviceable computer animation to illustrate key concepts, such as the different types of asexual reproduction and labeling the parts of reproductive systems. Via computer animation, viewers witness the reproduction and development of jellyfish and frogs. The male narration is clear and easily understandable, so his Australian accent should not be a barrier to viewers. The presentation of information comes at a rapid- fire pace, so some concepts may get lost; however, this program can be helpful as a review of instruction.—
