K-Gr 2—In this cleverly illustrated interactive story, a busy ant manages to make a new home in a young lady's pants leg as she goes about her day. The phonetic coincidences in the words take second place to the humorous situations that move the story. The still illustrations add rich texture to the story, and animated, radiating rings indicate interactive audio available to develop the story or provide vocabulary assistance. Characters add humorous comments and the ant makes appropriate interjections. Users can choose to read the text themselves or have it read to them as each word is highlighted. In the games option, activities include "Memory," "Rhyming," and "Making Words." Navigation within the program is easy, visual, and intuitive. The degree of interactivity and the impact of the humorous, appropriately detailed illustrations make this an exceptional program. While the story line could be stronger, it serves well as a vehicle for the various modes of learning and activities. Children will want to use this again and again.—Janie Pickett, Lackland ISD, San Antonio, TX
