PreS-Gr 3—Thirteen original and three traditional songs which encourage participatory movement, are performed in a variety of musical styles, including bluegrass, Dixieland jazz, rock, and pop. This second album by Lolly Hopwood and YoYo Kusters is enhanced by a wonderful children's chorus. The musicians give terrific performances on guitar, bass, fiddle, mandolin, autoharp, piano, harpsichord, trombone, sousaphone, trumpet, clarinet, harmonica, melodica, slide whistle, drums, percussion, sleigh bells, glockenspiel, and other instruments. "A Is for Avocado" encourages listeners to eat an ABC of fruits and vegetables. "Don't Laugh" is an entire track of laughing children with a bluegrass background. "An Adventurous Day" tells the story of a mouse, a robin, and a cat. A hungry alligator is shooed away in "Hey Alligator" and "Return of the Alligator." Additional songs include "Row Down the River," "Snowflakes," "Honey Bee," "Rainy Day," "Miss Mary Mack" (in a Dixieland jazz arrangement), "Go Bananas" (with hand claps and drums), "Glow in the Dark," and "I Don't Want to Go to Sleep," among others. The accompanying booklet contains health tips, games, and activities connected with each of the songs. A lively, bouncy, fun-filled album.—
