PreS-Gr 3—This well-done animated production is based on parables from the Bible. In "So This Is Booga," Marty the monkey and Gerard the giraffe travel to Booga Booga and begin a series of adventures. They get jobs working for Stan the walrus washing windows, but demand to know why other workers are being paid the same amount for working fewer hours. In "Marty's Sandcastle," the friends take a woodworking class and Marty is involved in a series of mishaps before they move on to build their own homes. When Gerard builds his on rock and Marty constructs his on sand, one house meets with unfortunate results when a storm hits. In the final episode, "No Light in the Lighthouse," Marty decides to build a lighthouse quickly but not properly, and several boats hit the shore because there is no light to warn them. Marty and Gerard have to work together to solve the problem. Each character has a defined personality which adds to the delight of the stories. All the tales teach a lesson while presenting the message in a humorous manner. Although based on biblical parables, the content of each episode makes no mention of religion, making them accessible to all viewers. A solid addition to public library collections, and a must-have where Christian based materials are in demand.—Veronica De Fazio, Plainfield Public Library District, IL
