With the need to support student's social and emotional well-being becoming more important than ever, it's essential that your library have a robust assortment of SEL books in its collection. Join publishing insiders from Jump! Library, Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing, and Swank Motion Pictures for a first look at their new SEL titles that are designed to help children develop social and emotional skills and identify with others.

Here are a few titles that will be featured:

Mindful Music and Dancing - In this book, early fluent readers will learn how music and dance can help us focus, relieve stress, and increase mindfulness. Step-by-step instructions help readers write song lyrics, mindfully listen to music, and dance. Social and emotional learning (SEL) concepts support growth mindset throughout, while Try This! and Grow with Goals activities at the end of the book further reinforce the content.

Noodle and the No Bones Day - From the creator of the viral “Bones or No Bones” TikTok videos comes a sweet and entertaining picture book following Noodle the pug and his human as they navigate Noodle’s first No Bones Day – a day for being kind to yourself.

Inside Out - The movie “Inside Out”  provides excellent context for Social and Emotional Learning that, amongst other things, helps students to visualize how our brains are wired and how life experiences can lead to a reorganization of the way we think and interpret emotions. This film can also be a great springboard to facilitating conversations around our own emotions and development of a deeper emotional intelligence.
