The slim volumes, written at a fourth grade reading level, have somewhat predictable plots but will be intriguing to middle and high school readers interested in suspense and the paranormal.
From haunted woods ([cf2]Truth[cf1]) to cursed bridges ([cf2]Graffiti[cf1]) to mysterious disappearances from years past ([cf2]Dark[cf1]), these slim hi-lo volumes set in the same small town present (rather tired) urban legends. The plots are easy to follow but not terribly scary, and some volumes suffer from faulty internal logic. There are three other spring 2017 books in this series.
