A light-hearted read about a dark topic that is so wrapped in imaginary superhero play and bright clothing that the protagonists all appear to be much younger than their actual ages, making the back matter crucial for identifying and reporting suspicions of human trafficking.
Unfortunately, this sequel does little to advance the story line Agosín created, and it misses an opportunity to teach young readers about Chilean history.
Readers will be anxiously turning the pages of this goofy and exciting title. Recommended for collections seeking more adventurous, illustrated middle grade.
Though an additional purchase at best, the book includes details about the author’s blog, chronicling his journeys and experiences, presenting a sound opportunity to connect kids with the many definitions of “able.”
