Beneficial for research projects, but also useful for general interest reading and to encourage critical thinking about complicated issues.
The authors describe the history of the internet, major security breaches (e.g., Target's customer data hack), and efforts to curb cyber crime. Although the fast-changing topic means the book will be quickly dated, the volume provides serviceable if dry background for report writers. Stock photographs and frequent sidebars contribute to the choppy layout. Reading list. Bib., glos., ind.
Serviceable but unexceptional dinosaur species introductions.
Field-guide-like spreads give superficial statistics (including Latin name, pronunciation, size, and period of existence) for about a dozen dinosaur species. Regrettably, the species are organized alphabetically in each slight volume, rather than by any more illuminating scientific scheme. Computer-generated images of what the dinosaurs and their environments may have looked like include helpful pop-up comments. Reading list. Glos., ind. Review covers the following Dinosaur Fact Dig titles: Triceratops, Tyrannosaurus Rex, and Brachiosaurus.
These accessibly designed titles provide information about different aspects of food, from ethical consideration in production and growing to nutrition and safety. While their focus on Common Core standards encourages worthy skills such as comparing sources or finding textual evidence backing a point, few students will appreciate the built-in assignments (e.g., "write a short essay..."). Reading list. Glos., ind. Review covers these Food Matters titles: Eating Ethically, Food Safety Basics, Gluten-Free and Other Special Diets, Nutrition Basics, Eating Organic, Genetically Modified Food, and Processed Foods.

An uneven series. Because the reading level of these titles is fairly advanced, those making purchasing decisions may prefer to select books for an adult audience written by subject specialists.
Though there is some overlap of information among these four books, these well-crafted guides are sure to be popular among browsers and practitioners.

their benefits. Photographs of girls executing the poses illustrate
the texts, and, for difficult poses, a smaller inset photo is
included with a modification. The clarity of their presentation
makes these titles a useful resource for the target audience.
