In the Margins Book Awards Announced

The 2021 In the Margin Book Award winners and Top 10 lists have been announced.

The In the Margins Book Awards—given to stories inclusive of youth "living a marginalized existence" and written for ages 9 to 21—have been announced in YA fiction and nonfiction, as well as advocacy and social justice.

The winners are:

Top Title for Fiction (YA)

Illegal by Francisco X. Stork

Top Title for Nonfiction (YA)

Badass Black Girl: Quotes, Questions, and Affirmations for Teens by M. J. Fievre

Top Title for Advocacy and Social Justice

When the Alphabet Comes: A Life Changed by Exposure by Jerome Allen
