SLJ Announces Best Books 2018

SLJ's reviews editors have made their choices for the year's top titles.

After months of reading and meeting after meeting of discussion and consideration, the reviews editors have chosen 80 titles as SLJ's Best Books 2018

Beyond literary excellence, these selections are timely and timeless. Front of mind, always, are the collection development needs of librarians, as well as appeal to young readers.

Highlighting this list are works in the graphic format and standout first novels, as well as titles that push conventional boundaries of genre and representation. Take a look and see if your favorites made the list.
