Gr 2–6—Does your library need a fresh change from the "I Spy" series? Agnone has met the challenge in this collection of visual puzzles. Viewers are given problems to solve (such as finding the difference between two images). Featuring hidden animals, double takes, and optical illusions, this selection would be perfect for readers who like to interact with the books they enjoy. Fun facts appear throughout. National Geographic is known for its stunning photography, and it does not fall short here. At the end, readers will find more to explore through a "More Challenges" section. A fun offering that will give children a new way of looking at the world.—Katy Charles, Virgil Elementary School, Cortland, NY
An introductory "How to Play" spread sketchily describes the book's seven types of "photo puzzles" ("Shapes in Nature," "Hidden Animals," "Optical Illusion," etc.), along with a bonus "More Challenges" section. It's a neat idea--and there's lots to see in the vivid photographs--but organization is lacking, and readers may find themselves flipping back to the how-to pages for reminders about what to do.
