Oppel’s latest begs to be made into a movie: visually cinematic with witty humor, nonstop action, a dash of romance, and plenty of heart. A first purchase for all middle grade collections.
A satisfying, edge-of-your-seat conclusion to Oppel’s trilogy that pits three hybrid human/alien teens against forces determined to destroy Earth. This is not a stand-alone but is well worth the investment of purchasing the full series.
An impressive addition to the outstanding trilogy. The teen characters must give in to their alien DNA, which can potentially help them to save Earth. This belongs on all young sci-fi thriller shelves.
A highly recommended addition to YA audiobook collections. ["This genre-bending narrative with elements of romance, fantasy, and Westerns is not a necessity but will make a good secondary purchase": SLJ 8/16 review of the S. & S. book.]
Listeners who are fond of horror and suspense will find a chilling tale awaits them in this well-done presentation. ["This affecting middle grade psychological thriller is recommended as a first purchase for libraries": SLJ 8/15 starred review of the S. & S. book.]
