2017 Newbery and Caldecott Winners Look Back, Offer Advice to the 2018 Honorees

Javaka Steptoe and Kelly Barnhill managed a year of award winner demands in different ways and now offer their advice to the 2018 Caldecott and Newbery Medal winners.

John Lewis’s “March: Book Three” took four Youth Media Awards, including the Printz, while Javaka Steptoe’s “Radiant Child” won the Caldecott, and Kelly Barnhill’s “The Girl Who Drank the Moon” took the Newbery.
