On September 15, School Library Journal and Library Journal will join to launch the first-ever Day of Dialog | Brooklyn to coincide with the Brooklyn Book Festival. This special-engagement event will feature both Festival and metropolitan-area authors with panels modeled on the long-running and annually sold-out Day of Dialog events. Spend a half or full day immersed in discussions with award-winning, and up-and-coming authors and illustrators, who’ll share the latest trends and inside scoops on the hottest new books.

Who should attend?
This is a not-to-be-missed event for librarians, library professionals, library students, educators, and book lovers!

How do I know which part of the day is right for me?
The morning will be devoted to children’s & YA authors, with in-depth discussions that will investigate trends, the creative process, and diverse perspectives on crafting quality literature for young readers.

The afternoon will be dedicated to adult literature and will open with LJ Day of Dialog’s most popular feature, Editors’ Picks. Top editors from leading houses will discuss their most exciting titles for winter/spring 2018—titles not yet available—for discussion at the recent BookExpo and American Library Association conferences. The panels that will follow will feature authors whose forthcoming books, in fiction and nonfiction, address key areas of interest in collection development.
