School Library Journal (SLJ) has launched a new column, all about graphic novels. A monthly post, “Stellar Panels” will be penned by Brigid Alverson, editor of “Good Comics for Kids,” part of the SLJ blog network.
The first installment of “Stellar Panels” posted today: “Four Women in Graphic Novels, and How They Made the Leap from Fan to Creator.” Timed for Women’s History Month, the piece highlights graphic novel authors and artists Christina “Steenz” Stewart, Dylan Meconis, Amy Chu, and Janet Lee, who describe their personal journeys, from discovering to making comics.
