Mother Deuce: Tennis Etiquette and the Rules of Play

Inprint/Pandamonium. Nov. 2021. 26p. pap.$12.95. ISBN 9798757873589.
COPY ISBN
Gr 3-6–A delightful rhyming poem about the etiquette and rules of play for the game of tennis, aimed at children who are at least a little familiar with the game, if not actual players. The illustrations appear to be pen and ink, with color that complements each verse by illustrating one aspect of it. For those not already acquainted with tennis, this is not the place to start. However, given the solid rhymes, the book would serve units on sports writing.
VERDICT With helpful information necessary for the topic, an additional purchase aimed at readers with an interest in tennis or in sports poetry.
