Toddler-PreS–A baby tapir learns what kinds of play he is and is not ready for, while different dino babies enjoy various types of food. By far the most successful of this trio is Sleep Tight, Polar Bear, in which all the white baby animals of the Arctic drift off to sleep except the baby owl, who is just waking up. The verse in this last title maintains its rhythm and will send children off to sleep with visions of irresistible hares, fox kits, and—of course—polar bears dancing in their heads.
VERDICT Pictures of felted baby animals with black bead eyes set in three-dimensional scenes are the main attraction in the “Little Loves” series, strong enough add to many collections.
