Pictures of the Week: Queens Library’s First Pre-K; Joshua David Bellin Launches ‘Colony 9’

Queens Library in New York began its first-ever pre-kindergarten class at the Woodhaven branch on September 22. The library is the first in the nation to provide formal early childhood education at its libraries, using dedicated, licensed early childhood educators hired by the institution for the program.

Joshua David Bellin celebrated his debut YA novel’s book launch on September 22 at the Pittsburgh-area Mystery Lovers Bookshop in Oakmont, PA. The author gave a reading of his sci-fi thriller Survival Colony 9 (S. & S., 2014) to a crowd of more than 75 people and signed books for the attendees.
