Looking for a way to get your older patrons up to speed on the latest tech gadgets but short on staff time? There’s a grant for that. Chronicle has a galley for every reader in its giveaway basket, and please note: it’s time for teens to vote for their favorites from the YALSA Teens’ Top Ten 2014 nominee list.

2014 YALSA Teens’ Top Ten Nominees Announced

YALSA recently announced the 25 Teens’ Top Ten Nominees for 2014. Teens are encouraged to read the titles before the national Teens’ Top Ten vote, which starts August 15 and goes through Teen Read Week, from October 12-18.

NY Kid Lit Exhibit; REFORMA’s Mora Award; YALSA Top Ten | News Bites

The Port Washington (NY) Public Library will host an exhibition of kid lit illustrators. Arizona State University wins REFORMA’s 2013 Mora Award. YALSA’s 2013 Teens’ Top Ten list is announced. The Gale Virtual Reference Library adds nearly 200 children’s Encyclopedia Britannica titles. Apply for a ALSC/Candlewick Press Grant. A research fellowship is available at the de Grummond Children’s Literature Collection at the University of Southern Mississippi.

YALSA’s Teens’ Top Ten Announced

The Young Adult Library Services Association has announced its official 2013 Teens’ Top Ten list, a “teen choice” selection of favorite books—published the previous year—chosen by teens for teens.
