21st Century Digital Knowledge Management: The Changing Role of the Media Specialist With Classroom Technology
Sponsored by Library Video Company/SAFARI Montage and School Library Journal.
Starts: Thursday, May 13, 2010, 2:00-3:00 PM EDT
There are new expectations for media specialists doing collection development and management in the information age. Each day there are new questions to be addressed. How can libraries support the creation, access, storage and delivery of digital visual content for and by our students and staff? How can video be distributed in a digital environment without compromising bandwidth? What are the copyright issues related to the creation and distribution of this content? How can instructional technology products be successfully integrated into the curriculum?
A team of library media services professionals from Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS) will lead this webcast discussion on the new expectations of media specialists for managing collections in the information age. Please join them and the other educational technology panelists for a lively session on the new role of the media specialist in creating, sourcing and managing new forms of digital knowledge resources such as interactive whiteboard Flipcharts and Notebooks, and how they can be digitally delivered in classroom instruction and for media center use.
