SirsiDynix's Next Gen Enterprise
By Josh Hadro -- Library Journal, 03/01/2009
Following up on the debut of its Enterprise faceted search interface last year (see InfoTech, LJ 8/08, p. 21), SirsiDynix has recently released the second generation of the product. Enterprise 2.0 now offers users RSS feed options for saved searches and dynamically generated search suggestions as users enter their query, as well as “interactive ratings and reviews” generated by the ChiliFresh Review Engine.
This release also prominently features SirsiDynix’s “fuzzy search logic,” designed for the original release to account for spelling or grammatical variations in search terminology, including “diacritics, suffixes, prefixes, and other tricky issues,” according to the company. Enterprise 2.0 will work with any of the company’s range of OPACs and is described as being suitable for “any size library or consortium.”
