It's time to toot your horn! Nominate yourself, your colleagues, or your library for the 2012 Sullivan Award for Public Library Administrators Supporting Services to Children. Sponsored by library luminary Peggy Sullivan and administered by the American Library Association, the annual award honors an individual who has shown exceptional understanding and support of library services to kids. Nominees should also have management, supervisory, or administrative experience that has included public library service to children. But don't dawdleâtime is running short. The deadline for submitting an application is December 1. For more information and to check out an application form, visit the Sullivan Award webpage. Last year's winner was Sol M. Hirsch, director of the Alachua County (FL) Library District. Hirsch received the award for cultivating community relationships and encouraging innovative methods of delivering services to local children and families. Take this opportunity to recognize a leader in your own library community who's making a positive difference in kids' lives.
