Thanks to the award, new librarian Kathleen Houlihan will attend her first ALA Annual Conference. |
The four winning librarians are: Elizabeth Dalton from the San Antonio Public Library; Kathleen Houlihan from the Austin Public Library; both in Texas: Marisa Glaviano from the Westerville Public Library; and Susan Ridgeway from the Streetsboro City Schools, both in Ohio.
“As a new librarian, finding funding to attend professional conferences can be a challenge, but thanks to the generosity of the Penguin Award, I will have an opportunity to learn from other librarians around the country and—and best of all—bring back emerging ideas in library services to benefit the children and families of Austin,” says Houlihan.
