YALSA Hosts Video Training
By Kathy Ishizuka
The service launched last month with an initial six videos. They cover topics ranging from how to build a YA collection to using ereaders and are available on the YALSA Academy site and a companion YouTube channel. The videos are produced by YALSA members, school and public librarians from across the country, in a crowdsourcing effort that the organization hopes will inspire future “YALSA producers.” The organization “welcomes submissions from both member and nonmembers alike,” Eve Gaus, a YALSA program officer for continuing education, wrote by email. YALSA plans to add its own videos to the resource, including staff productions focused on professional development, such as how to create a webinar and submit a program proposal.—Kathy Ishizuka
