Pictures of the Week | A Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for a State-of-the-Art School and Library

New York City’s Beacon High School recently hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new educational facility, designed by the studio of John Ciardullo P. C. The building, which  features an “industrial aesthetic,” includes 44 classrooms (four for students with special needs); multiple art, photography, technology, and science labs; a black box theater, choir rooms; and a gymnasium, auditorium, and lounge, among other facilities. Overlooking the double-height library is a commons area that will operate as a work and gathering space for this arts and technology school with an inquiry-based curriculum.
