PRESS RELEASE

Capstone Releases PebbleGo Animales, Spanish Adaption of Award-Winning PreK-2 Database

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – April 4, 2016 – Capstone, a leading publisher of children’s books and digital products and services, is pleased to announce its most popular PebbleGo™ database is now available in Spanish. PebbleGo Animales features articles on more than 250 animals and their behaviors with Spanish text and read-aloud Spanish-language audio recorded by professional voice-over artists who are native Spanish speakers. Designed for grades PreK-2, PebbleGo Animales’ content map mirrors the English language version of the module.

“A Spanish translation of our award-winning PebbleGo Animals database has consistently been the number one request from our customers. It’s very exciting to finally offer this module to those customers with Spanish-speaking populations. We’re confident this will be a helpful resource for their young, dual language learners as they begin researching and exploring favorite animals,” said Matt Keller, Capstone Chief Marketing Officer.

Capstone worked with Trusted Translations, an authority in Spanish translation services, to find the best Spanish-language translators. The PebbleGo Animales translations were triple-verified: first by a translator, then an editor, and finally, after completion of the audio-recording, the audio was reviewed for pronunciation and quality. All articles were translated contextually, as animal terms in Spanish can vary depending on gender and age.

Organized in broad categories by classification system (amphibians, birds, fish, invertebrates, mammals, and reptiles) and other wide-ranging groupings (insects and spiders, pets and farm animals, etc.), PebbleGo Animales explores information on an animal’s body, habitat, food, and life cycle. The database includes range maps showing geographic regions and downloadable templates to label animal parts. Accompanying activities, games, a question of the day, and teacher materials supplement the learning opportunities.

PebbleGo Animales is the sixth module in the award-winning database collection, joining Animals, Biographies, Dinosaurs, Science, and Social Studies.

All PebbleGo database modules include expertly-leveled text, fully narrated by professional voice-over artists to provide essential scaffolds for struggling readers and English language learners. PebbleGo employs a streamlined interface, animated highlighting, educational videos and games, and encompassing activities which teach students how to cite articles, create reports, and share what they’ve learned. The database is available over the Internet 24/7 as an annual subscription for enrolled students.
