Video: Garth Nix keynote | SLJ Day of Dialog 2014

The award-winning author of the fantasy novels, Sabriel, Lirael, and Abhorsen, and the teen science-fiction novel Shade’s Children, Garth Nix delivered the opening keynote of School Library Journal‘s Day of Dialog, held on May 28 in New York City. In this 10-minute clip from the presentation, he considers the question “Where do novels come from?”

Nix’s fantasy novels for younger readers include Ragwitch, the six books of the Seventh Tower series, the Keys to the Kingdom series, and A Confusion of Princes.

Clariel, the long-awaited fourth book in the Old Kingdom sequence by Nix will be published in October 2014 by HarperCollins.
