77 Things You Absolutely Have to Do Before You Finish College | Zest Giveaway

There’s more to college than just grades and graduation. The college years are a special time when students can encounter different cultures, test out potential careers, and take a stab at something new just because it sounds awesome. It’s one of the most exciting times in a person’s life, but unfortunately, it goes by really fast.

Halley BondeyHalley Bondy’s new book, 77 Things You Absolutely Have to do Before You Finish College (Zest Books, dist. by Houghton Harcourt, $14.99 paperback, ISBN-13 978-1-936976-00-3) provides students with helpful, exciting ways to make the absolute most of their college experience. From the classroom to the dorm room, to prepping for a career to making the most of their love lives, the 77 entries in this book help them make the most of it.

Following the success of 97 Things to Do Before You Finish High School, this new book is a fun, creative, and edifying bucket list for those wanting to step out of their comfort zone and enhance their undergrad years. The 77 entries touch upon academic topics, such as “Have a real conversation with your favorite professor,” which advises students to really connect with a teacher they admire, and not just about their grades. Social topics such as “Sever toxic relationships” provide solid life advice that is especially important for students who are trying to grow emotionally.

Then there are some lighthearted dorm life-improvement suggestions such as “convert your dorm room into your personal temple” and “build a piece of furniture,” which provide step-by-step instructions for a very tight budget. Parents may be especially interested in the “For the Future” section that is filled with practical advice on networking, creating a resumé, and even becoming “financially empowered.”
