Imagine the support students would feel with librarians in every school, instead of the skills of a single librarian spread among all the schools in the district!
Looking at the Prosser district's Strategic Plan, I would urge Supt. Tolcacher search for ways to upgrading his teaching staff to once again include teacher-librarians as instructional staff who are best equipped to help achieve the following goals of that plan:
1.2 Focus on Student Learning
1.2.1 – Establish and implement well-defined, systematic and personalized interventions to support all students’ success. (2011) 1.2.2 – Create a culture where all students are expected to be successful learners. Set expectation for staff to build confidence in all students. (2012)
1.2.3 – Design system to provide opportunities for students to become part of the instructional process.

Vivian Jennings, District Librarian, is very fortunate to have such a supportive superintendent as Ray Tolcacher.
