Great article on the current trends in educational technology, I am new to this arena. I am kind of a snob and never really can use one learning program. I don't think anything can ever take the place of reading and writing. Students must learn to think critically while reading informattional text therefore the videos can only be one source of learning the curriculum. The part I love the most is that students who chose to watch videos using the Educrations software can ask questions about the material. My experience is that kids don't ask questions in class because they are embarassed and this is a great option!!! Too many teachers lecture and ask students to take notes in class. Engaging projects should require reading and writing for a purpose, not just for rote learning.

So great to see this info for such a key role in supporting educators who are moving to a flipped model. Here's a great infographic that WeAreTeachers developed to help teachers start down the path - including research on what teachers are thinking about this model: http://bit.ly/10dDggO ... 82 percent of teachers tell us the biggest barrier for them in implementing is student access to technology.
