How does this affect teachers who sell on sites like Teacherspayteachers.com, or educators who go on and write books that are published? When you take into account all the things that teachers do, create and pay for themselves, they are extremely underpaid and under-appreciated. I also question since we are contracted employees, and are not required to create our own materials -- we can go out and find copyright free materials or purchase materials, why should the district own anything that I create and bring to the my job. I see this leading to more opportunities to mistreat people in the profession, and will only contribute to more good teachers leaving the profession.
