This is an abomination! I loved the books but couldn't see the film in the cinema. I really wanted to see it and so was estatic when I got it for my birthday yesterday. I was Appalled! They may as well made a completely different film. As well an the whole Amma/Marion thing and charecters not even being part of the story, the things that got me really angry was the ending and that they cut kinda big scenes or key plot points like Sixteen Moons. Why did they bother when its barely the same story?

Extremely disappointed in this film. After reading the book I was stoked about the movie but the differences were so extreme i couldnt even enjoy it. Several of my facorite characters werent even included such as ryan and marian and the sisters. Amma who takes care of the damily and cooks isnt in the film very much and isnt even the same amma as the book. They dont do the mind reading with eachother which makes you feel how connected they actually are. They make macon out to be mean in the film when he wasnt in the book. Everything also felt so rushed to the trial about lena to macob and amma meeting all happened so fast. They never go yo the dance and i was so excited to see her dress brought to life. Honestly im not suprised the film didnt do so well seeing as how poorly it was made. Dont get me wrong the film is good as long as you havent read the book.

I have NO intent of watching a movie where Marian Ashcroft is missing! Marian and (an older) Amma are the only 2 people who Ethen had after his mama died. Marian is so much to the entire story as a whole. What about Liv? How will she ever fit proper? And curse Viola Davis for calling Amma a MAID!! She is the head of the Wate house and has been since Ethens pops was a boy. The books are wonderful but film makers take too many libertys with storys that dont belong to them. I am appauld
