		<description>I agree that in theory the common core could enable us to teach more deeply rather that just skimming the surface of most concepts and content. However, at least in NC we are being taken over by &quot;Wireless Generation&quot; and its assessments on &quot;devices&quot;.  Our state is trying to force us to become device &quot;tappers&quot; instead of teachers.  They will then use the test scores to evaluate teachers on their teaching competence. Teachers will either have to buy in to teaching &quot;to the test&quot; or receive negative evaluations. In addition, K-5 students will be subjected to &quot;progress monitoring&quot; which will occur every 10 days for the most struggling readers. This comes on the tails of Common Core.  Is there a link? Wireless Generation is owned by Rupert Murdoch in cooperation with Bill Gates (I Pads are the only devices that work properly with the apps required for the MClass assessments.</description>
