Boy I wish I'd been there for this one! And for the whole conference, of course. I feel like - not mentioning a book's flaws isn't doing anyone any favors. Not the reader, and frankly, not the creator either. In my case, writing reviews for SLJ has trained me to write fair but honest critiques (in 250 words or less!), since reviewers don't get to pick and choose the books we are sent by SLJ. Sometimes you just get a dog of a book, and those are hard reviews to write, but that's the job.
