I remember picking up the original book as a 5th grader, a looonnggg time ago (that would be 44 years ago). The memory of this book has stayed with me forever. I am now in my 33rd year of teaching and have all of the books in my classroom for my students to read. I am really looking forward to reading the Prequel. Thank you for sharing this article.

I read The Boxcar Children and The Yellow House Mystery in the third grade and couldn't wait to buy them for my own children. When I did, my husband read all of the Warner books out loud to our youngest son. That son intends tocarry on the tradition and read them aloud to his own little boy, as soon as he is old enough to comprehend. Those stories empower children, and I'm glad they are being reissued. Thanks for writing about them.
